Your new role

As the Vice President, Overhead Catenary Systems Specialist, you will:

  • Be at the forefront of exciting OCS Construction and Installation Projects.
  • Ensure top-notch technical policies and procedures are followed during project execution.
  • Develop cutting-edge design/construction approaches for Power Distribution Design in various rail systems.
  • Prepare or review comprehensive overhead contact system studies for AC and DC electrified railway systems.
  • Create or review innovative designs, technical specifications, and accurate construction cost estimates.
  • Assist project managers in seamlessly coordinating project designs with other disciplines.
  • Review shop drawings, record changes, and communicate effectively with suppliers, contractors, and client representatives.
  • Participate in the client's quality process to ensure excellence in all deliverables.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals to provide trusted advisor services and future-ready solutions.
  • Make responsible and ethical decisions regarding company funds and resources.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required, showcasing your versatility and expertise.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • 12+ years of experience in OCS Construction and Installation of Railway Electrification Systems.
  • Proven experience in the Systems implementation phase of projects, including installation, Testing & Commissioning, Cutover, Record Drawings, and final reports.
  • Expertise in procurement efforts, including authoring technical requirements and specifications, performing vendor bid evaluations, and supporting vendor selection.
  • Engineering design experience on at least three transit or commuter/intercity rail projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD design environments for OCS design drawings.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • A strong track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with the client's policies.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
  • Local familiarity with the area (preferred).
  • Experience working with Amtrak and MTA (preferred).
  • The ability to work independently and make decisive on-site decisions.
  • Experience as a catenary lineman or similar role on local railroads (a plus).
