The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s/applicant’s qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Cognizant is seeking a Systems Network Administrator in Philadelphia, PA.

Role Description

• Needs to be in close proximity to our 1601 Cherry Street, Philadelphia PA, 19102 Datacentre location, as there is on-site requirement and we need reasonable commute time of 60 min max (ideally less), as the requirement initially will be 4 days\week on site (maybe more initially). That could change over time and become less if resource proves themselves and gains required trust.
• Needs to have the ability to self-manage for typical day-to-day tasks and assigned projects\initiatives, with periodic check-in with manager
• Critical need for proven ability to document, plan, and execute on initiatives and assignments without having to be micro-managed at the task level.
• Needs to have ability and desire to be engaged and ‘own’ the environment, we are not a large team and cannot have Network folks that only do Day-to-day Operations or Troubleshooting or maintenance, or upgrades, or implementations, or other project work. These roles need to be involved in everything.
• We do not want someone who only wants big projects and can’t be bothered with day-to-day requests as well.
• Person needs to have good teamwork and communication skills and be responsive (on and off hours).
• Person needs to have ability to absorb information about our business environment over time to develop understanding of how the Network environment supports the business.
• Lastly, the person needs to have the ability to assess existing network environment with limited access to existing resources\documentation. We may not have the luxury of much overlap time with existing contracted resources.
