Our client is seeking a Sr. Cloud Engineer (Google) for a remote opportunity.
Role Description
As a Senior Google Cloud Engineer, you will:
• Architect, deploy, and optimize Google Cloud solutions for performance, reliability, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Lead customer engagements, providing technical guidance and best practices for cloud adoption and optimization.
• Design and implement automation using Terraform, Cloud Build, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline infrastructure deployment and management.
• Optimize Kubernetes (GKE), Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, and Compute Engine for scalability and resilience.
• Manage cloud security and compliance using Google Security Command Center, IAM, and VPC Service Controls.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues across Linux and Windows environments.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers and team members.
• Conduct Well-Architected Reviews to assess and improve customers' cloud environments.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, and customer success teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to support critical cloud operations and incident management.
Skills & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years’ experience in a related field
The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 2 years’ experience; or 8 years’ experience in a related field.
• Hands-on expertise in Google Cloud services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, and VPC networking.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Deep experience with Kubernetes (GKE), Docker, and microservices architectures.
• Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager.
• Strong experience in CI/CD tools, such as Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab, or ArgoCD.
• Cloud security knowledge, including IAM, compliance frameworks, and best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, automation, and performance tuning skills in cloud environments.
•ulti-cloud experience (e.g., AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud environments).
•xperience with Google Anthos and hybrid/multi-cloud orchestration.
•Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and agile methodologies.
