Senior Solar Project Engineer opportunity with a leading developer & owner/operator

Hays has partnered with a leading solar developer & owner/operator, who is dedicated to revolutionizing the energy industry by providing innovative and sustainable solar solutions. They specialize in developing, engineering, and deploying solar projects that cater to both commercial & industrial (C&I) sectors and community solar initiatives.

Job Description: The Solar Project Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end engineering and technical support for C&I and community solar projects. This role involves detailed project planning, design, and execution to ensure efficient and high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed engineering plans and designs for solar projects in the C&I and community solar sectors.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project viability.
  • Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of solar systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting during and after project implementation.
  • Utilize software tools for system design, performance analysis, and project management.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in solar technology and industry best practices.

    Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in solar engineering, with a focus on C&I and community solar projects.
  • Proficiency in solar design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope).
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, renewable energy technologies, and grid integration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
