Senior Construction Estimator, Interiors - GC | CM - Fit-out & Renovation - Commercial | Resi | Infrastructure

Your new company

I am partnered with a General Contracting firm that has serviced the NYC market since early 2000’s providing construction management, pre-construction and sustainability services to a broad range of clients across the residential, commercial and infrastructure realm.

Focused towards interior fit-out and large-scale renovations they have built for the following institutions: ESPN, BlackRock, Cambridge University, Cushman & Wakefield, and Empire Reality to name but a few.

Your new role

They are looking for a Senior Estimator to join their current team of 9 within pre-construction. The day-to-day will include breaking down construction drawings and blueprints, evaluating the project scope, completing site walkthroughs to further evaluate the project, manage RFI’s and RFP’s, and completing quantity take-offs across all trades. This individual will then reach out to subcontractors in correlating pricing, along with utilizing historical pricing from past projects, and RS Means in gaining benchmarking and preparing complete cost estimates.

You will work directly with architects and owners getting involved at design stage where possible complete VE analysis where necessary and be able to propose solutions to scheduling and material changes on the fly. There is the opportunity to branch into management relatively quickly and take on mentorship of junior employees early on if that is the desired route.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience working in a GC/CM environment competitively bidding a range of interior projects – fit-out and renovation works valued in excess of $8M independently. You will be competent across a number of contract types from GMP, to lump-sum and conceptual works. Having a solid subcontractor network, along with experience across OST, or Planswift is advantageous. Coming from a construction related degree is not required but again advantageous.

What you'll get in return

Our client has a very competitive compensation and benefits package including x2 performance bonus annually, medical, dental, and vision insurances, 401K retirement plans + employer match a generous PTO package and Mondays and Fridays working from home.
