Our client is seeking a Senior Director, IAM & Application Security in Dallas, TX.
Role Description
The Senior Director of Identity and Access Management (IAM) is tasked with defining and implementing the vision and strategy for comprehensive identity, access, directory, and authentication services across the enterprise. This role encompasses overseeing both internal and external teams, including onshore and offshore members, who handle the automated and manual provisioning and deprovisioning of access to critical systems. Key responsibilities include planning for future needs, designing and implementing IAM technologies, automating manual processes, supporting identity access governance, managing privileged access, and ensuring identity life cycle management complies with regulatory standards and policies.
Responsibilities:
Lead IAM Strategy and Execution
Architect, Design, and Deliver IAM Solutions: Spearhead the development and implementation of IAM architecture, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
Drive IAM Roadmaps and Priorities: Establish and manage IAM roadmaps, setting clear priorities, planning, and budgeting to align with organizational goals.
Automate Provisioning Processes: Direct the provisioning and access processes, implementing best practices to automate provisioning across the enterprise.
Optimize IAM Tools: Manage and enhance identity governance tools, access management tools (e.g., Entra ID, Okta), privileged access management tools (e.g., CyberArk), single sign-on (SSO) capabilities, and other IAM solutions.
Innovate with Customer-Centric Insights: Utilize industry insights, user feedback, and data to drive customer-centric innovation in IAM strategy and design.
Introduce Transformational Best Practices: Implement transformational IAM best practices to drive user adoption and facilitate change.
Manage Critical Projects: Prioritize and manage critical IAM projects, collaborating with stakeholders to achieve significant business impact.
Collaborate with External Partners: Work with vendors, consultants, and third parties to enhance information security within the organization.
Ensure Data-Driven Leadership: Ensure IAM leaders gather and analyze data, report on customer satisfaction levels, and meet SLA metrics.
Compliance and Audit Collaboration: Partner with internal and external audit teams to ensure IAM systems comply with regulations.
Advise Senior Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, effectively communicating IAM strategies.
Resolve Security Incidents: Oversee the resolution of IAM-related security incidents, ensuring timely identification, investigation, and remediation of access control issues.
Lead Global IAM Team: Manage and lead the global IAM team across multiple locations.
Skills & Requirements
Required Experience:
This role demands a diverse set of technical and management skills, with a minimum of 10-12 years of experience, including:
Comprehensive understanding of IAM principles and engineering.
Extensive knowledge of multifactor authentication (MFA) architectures, implementations, and best practices.
Proficiency with multiple IAM systems (both traditional and cloud-based).
Experience in planning and managing budgets and expenditures.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong project management and conflict resolution skills.
Effective prioritization and time management skills, with the capability to communicate and present effectively to senior leadership.
Adaptability to changing work requirements and priorities, tight deadlines, operational crises, and multiple concurrent initiatives.
