Regional Safety Manager (Power)

The Regional Safety Manager is the lead for safety initiatives for all Civil Power Projects within the Power Market, supervising a team of safety professionals in the field and working closely with the Safety Director. This role involves significant travel, approximately 75%, to ensure the implementation and adherence to safety protocols across various projects.

Primary Responsibilities
· Provide comprehensive safety support to management at multiple levels and field operations.
· Conduct routine field safety assessments to promote a People-First Culture and ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal requirements.
· Offer strategic guidance on the planning, development, administration, and management of the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Program.
· Lead or assist in incident investigations in collaboration with the Safety Director, focusing on significant events to determine causes and implement preventive measures.
· Establish and maintain partnerships with clients through effective communication and interaction, aligning safety practices with client expectations.
· Coordinate and participate in safety meetings with senior leadership and safety team members, promoting the continuous improvement of safety measures.
· Support the professional development of safety team members, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge.
· Manage the allocation of safety personnel to projects, ensuring comprehensive coverage and support.

Education and Certifications
· Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Safety Management or a similar related field required.
· Certification as a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals is required.
· Certification as a Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) with endorsement(s) in Civil and/or Electric T&D from the Utility Safety & Ops Leadership Network is preferred.
· Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is preferred.

Requirements
· Minimum of 10 years of self-performing Civil, Access, Foundations and ROW Construction safety experience working in and around energized environments, with a strong preference for candidates who have demonstrated leadership skills.
· Previous experience managing a team of safety professionals.
· Previous experience developing Site-Specific Safety Plans and Training Programs.
· Ability to communicate effectively up and down the organizational structure.
· Strong planning, organizational, and people management skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft applications, Bluebeam, and similar software.
