This organization is looking to hire a Construction Code Specialist to provide management, oversight, and guidance on all code matters pertaining to construction projects.


-Your new role-

As the University Code Specialist, you will serve as the main liaison between the organization and the State Bureau of Construction Project Review, and the construction code representative to local municipalities for construction plan review and permit approval matters. You would provide oversight on all construction projects and would also assist with any issues that arise due to construction code.


-What you'll need to succeed-

  • Bachelor degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Code Compliance, or similar field of study

  • 5 years' construction experience with an institute of higher education with responsibility of enforcing NJ Uniform Construction Code

OR

  • 10 years' experience in Architectural, Engineering, or Government Agency with responsibility of enforcing NJ Uniform Construction Code

  • Licensed and certified in NJ Construction, Fire & Housing Codes, including Construction Code Official, Subcode Official, and HHS (Class 1) Building or Fire UCC inspector licenses (or combination)

  • Experience in Codes and Standards, Plan Reviews, and Inspections
