A premier manufacturing company located in the Tri-State area is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead their payroll team, hybrid one day a week in-office! Your new role

The Payroll Manager role involves directing the day-to-day payroll functions while ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction. The successful candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment, coaching staff, delivering industry best practices, and maintaining high-quality standard operating procedures and monitoring controls.

  • Manage the Americas, US, shared service payroll operations with 8 direct reports
  • Develop payroll strategy and partner with Human Resources, Legal, Finance, and Tax Departments in automation, compliance, and customer-centric initiatives.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with third-party vendors regarding unemployment claims management, garnishments, commuter benefits, and health and welfare.
  • Sign off on payroll staff processing and auditing of weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly pay cycles for approximately 14,000 U.S. domestic employees.
  • Responsible for timely and favorable audit findings related to SOX, internal audits, external audits, and local union reviews.
  • Oversee garnishments, 401k, and all other employee and employer payroll deductions.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, HR Management, or equivalent
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience managing a multi-state payroll function with 5000+ employees payroll size
  • Experience with Workday HCM, Payroll module, Time Tracking required as well as ADP WorkforceNow.
  • American Payroll Association and/or SHRM member.
  • Ability to manage and coach a team with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Experience complying with audit procedures, tax and accounting practices, company policies, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
