Network Engineer (Shipboard Operations) – Permanent – Miami, FL – $110,000 - $120,000.
The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s/applicant’s qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Network Engineer (Shipboard Operations) in Miami, FL.

Top Skills / Requirements
• 5+ years’ strong experience as a Network Engineer in complex, enterprise environments
• Must possess strong experience & proficiency w/ Routing & Switching (Aruba or Cisco) – Cisco is preferred because their environment is mainly Cisco
• Must possess strong experience & proficiency w/ Firewall configuration (Fortinet highly preferred)
• Must possess experience & proficiency w/ Cisco ISE
• Must possess experience & proficiency w/ SD-WAN to optimize and compress traffic (Silver Peak SD-WAN highly preferred, but ok if they use Cisco or another alternative SD-WAN)
• Must be a US Citizen with Passport able to travel internationally (only 5-10% travel time – which would be anywhere between 1-4 times per year for just a few days)
Preferred
• Experience & proficiency w/ SDA Fabric, DNA, and ACI are extremely high plusses (BASICALLY JACKPOT IF THEY HAVE THESE)
• Cisco CCNP Certification is highly preferred
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training. Mid-level networking certifications strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of experience with configuration and management of enterprise networking hardware including routers, switches, voice over IP telephony, wireless infrastructure, firewalls and internet proxy devices. Recent experience with network administration / configuration/ management related. Industry experience strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Experience with networking protocols to include routing (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) and switching (Cisco proprietary protocols and network standard protocols including but not limited to spanning tree, trunking protocol, MPLS technology.) Ability to work independently and multitask in a real time environment with good troubleshooting skills. Sound decision-making skills with ability to meet deliverables of infrastructure projects. Ability to maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, including but not limited to: routers, switches, VoIP, Wireless, and Security. Ability to travel offsite including international locations on average 40% annually; work includes occasional weekend or after hour time, when necessary. Ability to read, write and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation and original equipment manufacturer guides. Ability to conduct research into network issues and products as required. Good verbal and written communication skills with a strong commitment to excellent customer service. Strong initiative, priority setting and collaboration skills. Ability to lift potentially heavy hardware equipment within reasonable accommodation
