Multifamily General Contractor hiring a Project Manager in the DC area.

Your new company:
Hays are exclusively partnering with a well-known Multifamily General Contractor in the Washington DC market as they continue to grow their team. This construction company have been building in the Washington DC market for the 30+ years and have developed an excellent reputation for themselves in the multifamily apartment, condominiums and hotel arena. This construction general contractor has two new build multifamily projects starting in Q2 of 2025 and are looking to bring a Project Manager, or Senior Project Manager, onboard now to oversee these projects.

Your new role
Your primary role will be to lead the construction Project Management team throughout the delivery of the Multifamily project. Projects will be in the Northern Virginia/DC area and will be in the range of $50M-$120M, stick frame above a concrete podium. On site, you will manage a team of APMs and PE’s whilst also working in sync with the field team. This is an on-site position working out of the construction trailer. Your day-to-day tasks will include the management of the team, oversight of the RFIs, receiving and tracking submittals, oversight of permits, maintaining subcontractor, vendor and client relationships, leading progress meetings, managing the budget and schedule as well as the oversight of safety and quality control measures.

What you'll need to succeed:
  • 8-15 years of construction experience, ideally within multifamily new build construction projects however other new construction project exposures, for example in commercial office and hotels, will also work.
  • You will demonstrate strong communication and team building skills, excellent organizational skills and be able to work well under pressure.
  • Your attention to detail will see you managing quality and risk on this project to ensure a high level of satisfaction from your client.
  • A construction related degree is desired but not essential, candidates with construction management or civil engineering degrees are most sought after.
  • Ideally you will have operating knowledge of Procore or other construction tech systems.

  • Base salary $120K - $160K assessed based on skill set.
  • $800 vehicle allowance per month.
