Our client is seeking
Motor Test Technician in Atlanta, GA.

Role Description

As an Electric Technician within the company unit you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering team in the technical design, evaluation, and testing phases of new product development of electronic motor controls. This technician will build, set up and support perform electrical, environmental, performance and agency testing to support engineering validation and design qualification of electronic motor controls. In addition, this individual will also support activities to maintain a safe and efficient operating environment in the electrical propulsion labs.

- Prepare test setups, conduct electrical, environmental, performance and agency tests and document results
- Carry out the assembly of screened cables, ensuring that appropriate shielding and insulation methods are applied according to industry standards.
- Perform electro-mechanical assembly tasks, seamlessly integrating electrical and mechanical components.
- Assemble military specification connectors, adhering to standards and guidelines like MIL-DTL-5015 and MIL-DTL-38999.
- Diagnose and fix technical problems related to test setups, equipment, and data acquisition systems.
- Manage test labs electrical workshop, stores, instrumentation, calibration and procurement of consumables.
- Ensure all electrical lab work adhere to safety regulations and meet company quality standards.

Skills & Requirements

Top 5 Technical Skills:
1. Experience in Motor Lab or High Voltage System Lap (EV companies)
2. Wireman Skills: building wire harnesses Crimping, soldering, shielding, insulation
3. Experience with High Voltage System environment
4. OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (High Voltage safety)

- Strong previous experience of working in electrical motor and HV power distribution system test lab environment, including hands-on skills in assembly, modification, repair, and testing of electric motors required
- Experienced working in HV systems environment with adherence to health and safety standards. (OSHA 29 CFR 1910, NR 10, BS EN 50110-1)
- Ability to understand electronics schematics, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and related production drawings required
- Knowledge of and ability to use lab equipment including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies / battery emulators, data loggers, spectrum analysers, environmental chambers and thermocouples etc. required
- Experience with mechanical tools (drilling, cutting, tapping, milling) for prototypes and test equipment preferred
- Familiarity in using CAD tools to accurately interpret and follow engineer drawings for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
