Our client is seeking a Client Tax Reporting Analyst in New Jersey.

Role Description

Job Description:
- Perform quality control testing of IRS Forms 1099 and 1042-S that are delivered to more than 1 million WMA clients.
- The role will entail diverse functions such as:
o Reconcile investment income and proceeds, that are paid to clients, to the 1099 Forms to ensure accurate reporting.
o Validate client information that appears on forms by checking against the firm’s source records and statements.
o Support the team in reconciling tax that is withheld from clients and paid to the IRS and state taxing authorities.
o Review standard operating procedures; recommend updates as applicable (e.g. based on current file layouts and or updated taxing authority reporting instructions).
o Communicate issues in detail and track them to resolution.
o Develop and maintain tracking spreadsheets
o Maintain and update tax season runbook logs, keep and publish meeting minutes.
o Provide management reporting of metrics, issues, and status.
o Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Skills & Requirements

Required experience:
- CPA, finance, or accounting degree and or:
4 years relevant financial services experience (e.g. in client tax reporting, income processing, corporate actions, etc.).
- Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate (at minimum) Excel expertise (e.g. demonstrated ability to create formulas and perform V look-ups).
