Your new company

This role will be working with a successful General Contractor based in White Plains, NY. They focus on a variety of construction projects including healthcare, higher education, and a mix of retail and commercial construction projects. These projects average between $8-40MM+ with the majority of their work coming from repeat business.

Your new role

They are looking for a Chief Estimator to manage the team of 4 as they continue to build on their impressive portfolio and client base. In this role you can expect to carry out the following:

• Capable of performing detailed quantity take-offs and organizing the quantities with unit pricing in production of an estimate.

• The ability to build a full conceptual cost estimate from architectural sketches/schematics.

• Experience in developing and implementing value engineering solutions to drive down project costs for the owner while maintaining a high level of construction quality.

• The ability to negotiate throughout the bidding process.

• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and aggressive deadlines.

• Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills with a high level of attention to detail.

• A team player with a positive attitude who can also work independently, is self-motivated and success-driven, yet able and willing to take direction.

• Ability to mentor Junior Estimators

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have 10+ years’ experience with either a general contractor or developer and have an understanding of all trades. You will demonstrate a solid understanding and knowledge of estimating processes and delivery methods, with prior experience of conducting solid conceptual estimates utilizing schematics whilst having experience of contract types and deal structures.
