Position Overview:

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the project management team in the successful execution of heavy civil construction projects. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to planning, coordinating, and overseeing various aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the day-to-day management of construction projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure the successful execution of project tasks.
  • Review project schedules, assist in cost tracking, and report on progress to senior management.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and contractors.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of project documentation, including contracts, permits, and change orders.
  • Provide support in resolving issues and mitigating project risks.
  • Help monitor and manage project quality, ensuring the highest standards of craft skills are maintained.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in construction project management, ideally in heavy civil construction or related fields.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with an ability to work well with teams and clients.
  • Familiarity with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential risks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on meeting project goals.
