Traveling Assistant Superintendent

Key Responsibilities
● Assist the Site Superintendent in managing day-to-day operations on the construction
site.
● Attend transfer meetings with the estimating department to ensure seamless project
handoff.
● Oversee and coordinate the activities of subcontractors and site workers, ensuring
adherence to company policies and project requirements.
● Facilitate safety meetings, monitor site safety and report incidents, ensuring compliance
with all safety regulations and standards.
● Prepare and maintain site documentation, including daily reports, logs, and safety
records.
● Manage the owner’s punch list, ensuring timely completion of all items.
● Provide project updates to the Owner and Team via project management software,
communicating major shutdowns and material deliveries.
● Conduct site inspections to verify work quality and compliance with design specifications
and building codes.
● Prepare and submit progress reports, including safety checklists and completion lists for
subcontractor demobilization.
● Write and submit RFIs (Requests for Information) as needed.
● Assist in final walkthroughs, inspections, and project closeout activities.
Assistant Site Superintendent -
Job Description
● Travel to building sites as required, with frequent overnight
and weekend travel required for project oversight and meetings.

Qualifications
● High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in construction
management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
● Strong organizational and time-management skills.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
● OSHA certification (OSHA10, OSHA30) or other relevant safety training is preferred.
● PMP, CCM or CSM is preferred.
● Ability to interpret blueprints and construction documents.
Field personnel on construction project teams should expect 60-hour workweeks, with a
minimum of 5 days a week and 8 hours per day, including weekends. Travel home is typically
every other week, but can shift to every third week depending on project needs. During the final
month and a half of a project, it's common to remain on-site and take extra time off after
completion.
Experience
● At least one (1) year of proven experience in construction management or as a Site
Superintendent in a similar role.
● Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, materials, and safety
protocols.
● Proficiency in project management and construction software (e.g., RedTeam, Procore,
Bluebeam)
● Ability to read blueprints and schematics effectively.
● Excellent supervisory skills with a focus on team management and development.
● Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
