Project Manager opportunity for a specialist in bridge work in Northern California

Your new company

Hays has partnered with a local general contractor that specializes in road and bridge work in Northern California. They are seeking a project manager with extensive knowledge and skill in bridge work and paving/grading.


Your new role

  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets for bridge construction projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Oversee the design and construction phases, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and address any issues or challenges.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, including progress updates, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, and technical drawings.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate effectively with all project participants.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials and equipment needed for projects.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and junior engineers.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in bridge construction or similar infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, project management methodologies, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
