Your new company
Our client is a civil site work subcontractor who specializes in concrete and earthworks for commercial, residential and municipal projects. Due to internal growth, they are looking for an estimator to join the team. The company self performs all aspects of site preparation including site clearing, excavating, grading, soil stabilization and demolition. The work on a variety of different projects ranged from $500k through to $30Mil. They self-perform all site work/concrete and take projects from bidding stage right through to completion. Due to a significant pipeline of work as well as internal promotion, the opportunity has arisen for a qualified estimator to join the team.

Your new role
As part of the estimating team, you’ll be responsible for managing and reviewing bid documents, attending pre-bid meetings as well as evaluating and finally submitting detailed proposals and cost analysis. Working closely with the project management team, subcontractors and vendors, you’ll determine specific project requirements. You will be able to work very autonomously and eventually take on leadership responsibility, but also work closely with the rest of the team.

What you'll need to succeed in a Bachelors’ degree in civil engineering, construction management and/or equivalent qualifications and 1–5 years of experience as a civil estimator, ideally on siteworks/utilities projects. You’ll have to be able to work with multiple leading estimating software packages. Excellent relationships and communication skills complete your skills.
