Senior Estimator - General Contractor | Construction Manager, NATIONAL RETAIL PROJECTS - Rye, NY.

They specialize nationally in retail and commercial projects with a client list that includes multiple nationally recognized brands that continually rely on them to meet – and exceed – their schedules, specifications and budgets on each project.

Due to the continued growth, they are in a position in which they are looking to add a Senior Construction Estimator to the team based in their brand-new office in Rye, NY.


Your new role

In this role as a Senior Construction Estimator, your responsibilities will include analyzing and interpreting architectural plans, performing material take-offs, and obtaining quotes from suppliers. You will also be providing detailed proposals and accurate bid packages, that will involve negotiating and attending meetings with vendors, clients and architects, along with value engineering projects to ensure they fall within timeframe and budget.


Key Responsibilities :
  • Bid strategy
  • Subcontractor and Vendor Coordination
  • Analyzing bid documents and design drawings
  • Site meetings and walk-through’s
  • Completing quantity take-offs
  • Scope determination and breaking down scope sheets
  • Value engineering
  • Managing change-orders
  • Managing RFI’s / RFP’s
  • Local subcontractor qualification


What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you should have at least 5+ years’ experience delivering conceptual and/or hard dollar estimates for a range of commercial projects – specifically retail. You will be proficient in On Screen Take-Off, be able to build on existing subcontractor relationships in the surrounding area and, ideally, have an engineering, architecture or construction management degree.
