Traveling Superintendent Job | Projects across the United States | $90-120k DOE + Benefits

Your new company

My client is a specialist General Contractor that primarily deals with ground up and interior fit-out and renovation within the commercial and retail sectors, and has been in business for nearly 40 years. While they may also deal with multi-use facilities, their primary clientele sits within the retail and grocery space. They handle projects up to 400,000 square feet, including rollouts, minor remodels, major remodels, and large ground-up construction.

Your new role

As a superintendent for this GC, you will be responsible for running the field operations for projects in the United States. This will be a traveling position. You will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

  • Collaborating with the project managers, end clients and subcontractors to determine and manage the requirements of the project
  • Setting performance goals and deadlines, managing the work schedule
  • Plan construction processes
  • Estimate costs and ensure the project is running on budget
  • Supervision of staff and subcontractors on site
  • Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities
  • Monitor and report on project progress to stakeholders
  • Implementation of safety and quality guidelines
  • Keeping track of material stock and orders
  • Resolve on-site issues and emergencies

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Proven experience as a construction superintendent who has completed both ground up and interiors projects within the retail sector.

  • Knowledge of local quality, safety and health guidelines (OSHA 10 or 30 required), in-depth knowledge of construction operations and processes.

  • Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore or similar.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar field would be beneficial but is not necessary.

  • Candidates must be able and willing to travel across the US for projects as required.
