AWARD-WINNING LOCAL STUDENTS

Two local students at the University of Southampton have beaten off strong competition to win top prizes. Matt Walker recently completed his MSc Civil Engineering and won the award for the Best Overall Student. Lesley Elliott, who graduated from an MSc Social Work course, won the Student of the Year Award. Both awards are sponsored by leading specialist recruitment consultancy, Hays.

The purpose of the awards is to promote, recognise and reward excellence in fields relating to construction and social housing. Hays recently attended a prizegiving ceremony at the University to present a cheque and framed certificate to the proud students.
