AWARD-WINNING LOCAL STUDENT
Three local students at Liverpool John Moores University have beaten off strong competition to win top prizes. Stephen Jones, Peter Taylor and Shaun Bretland all won Best Overall Student Awards for their respective courses, which are sponsored by the leading specialist recruitment consultancy, Hays.
The purpose of the awards is to promote, recognise and reward excellence in fields relating to construction. Hays recently attended a prizegiving ceremony at the University to present a cheque and framed certificate to the proud students.
Helen McGuiness, Manager of Hays, says: “It is great to support students to pursue a career in an industry as varied and dynamic as construction, covering disciplines such as architecture, surveying and construction management. These prizes are a small step to reward the next generation for their hard work and we would also encourage students to explore the many employment opportunities that exist locally.”
