Hays Specialist Recruitment

CONSTRUCTION WORKERS STILL IN DEMAND

The UK’s leading recruitment consultancy, Hays Construction has opened a new office on Castle Street in Hamilton so that it can better meet the needs of local people. It has opened locally in response to a strong demand for construction workers in the area.

Construction management positions are high on the list, with current vacancies for site managers and contracts managers. Tradesmen and labourers are also needed to work on the ever-expanding project portfolio in the Lanarkshire area. Projects such as Ravenscraig, along with the various number of PFI/PPP schools and hospitals projects and the continual investment in civils and infrastructure work, such as the M74 regeneration project, make Lanarkshire a hub for construction workers.

Manish Harish, Office Manager at Hays comments: “Our new office in Hamilton will allow us to better meet the recruitment needs of local employers and employees. There is a lot of talk at the moment of construction being a ‘doom and gloom’ industry, due to the downturn in the housing market, but increasing public sector investment means this definitely isn’t the case. There are plenty of opportunities for construction workers in the area.”
