AWARD-WINNING LOCAL STUDENT
A local student at the University of Brighton has beaten off strong competition to win a top prize. Rob Harrington recently completed his final year of a BSc Architectural Technology and won the award for the Best Dissertation, which is sponsored by the leading specialist recruitment consultancy, Hays.
Other students to win awards included: Alan Goss, BSc Building Surveying, for the Best Dissertation, Sam Holden, BSc (Hons) Construction & Project Management, received the Best Final Year Student Award and Peter Osman, Meng Civil Engineering, was awarded the prize for Most Improved Student.
The purpose of these awards is to promote, recognise and reward excellence in the fields relating to construction. Hays recently attended a prizegiving ceremony at the University to present a cheque and framed certificate to the proud students.
Clair Baldry, Team Manager of Hays, says: “It is great to support students to pursue a career in an industry as varied and dynamic as construction, covering disciplines such as architecture, engineering, surveying and construction management. These prizes are a small step to reward the next generation for their hard work and we would also encourage students to explore the many employment opportunities that exist locally.”
